Villa test is a three-storey contemporary house measuring 150 square meters, situated deep within a temperate forest surrounded by tall trees. The volume is capped by a gable roof with a moderate pitch and clad in vertical charred and light oak timber cladding. Floor-to-ceiling glazing spans the main elevation, opening the internal structural levels directly to the immediate woodland context. The interior maintains a dark, moody palette dominated by deep browns and blacks, anchored by wide oak plank flooring that remains consistent across every view. The living spaces are explicitly lived-in and layered, populated by rugs, textiles, cushions, throws, books, ceramics, plants, art on the walls, and scattered table and floor lamps, avoiding the austerity of a vacant show-home. The choice to implement such a dark interior palette within an already heavily shaded forest canopy is admittedly debatable, as it significantly limits indoor luminance and forces a reliance on localized lamp lighting even during daytime hours. Recorded in a single continuous frame using a 24mm lens under natural light, the project accepts this perpetual twilight as a necessary consequence of its strict material discipline.
